Meet Emma

A woman with short dark hair is sitting on a wooden chair with a gray cushioned seat. She is wearing a navy blazer, maroon pants, black shoes, and a colorful beaded necklace. She has a smartwatch on her left wrist and is smiling at the camera. Behind her is a bookshelf with books and storage bins, and the room has light-colored walls and gray carpet.

30 years in commercial roles. 15 at executive level. All in service of one thing: businesses that work.

I spent three decades in UK retail — commercial roles through to Trading Director and Managing Director, at names like Sainsbury's, New Look, Tesco and Marks & Spencer. Businesses from £9m to £1bn in revenue. Teams from 5 to 250. Growth, change, turnaround — I've led through all three.

What I found, consistently: the problems holding a business back are rarely unique. Founder dependency. Unclear offers. Margin pressure nobody can see until it's too late. Teams that wait on the founder instead of deciding. These are solvable — they just need someone who's seen the pattern before and knows what actually fixes it.

Today I bring that into advisory work with founder-owned SMEs, private equity-backed businesses, and manufacturing and ecommerce companies across the UK. I'm also a qualified executive mastercoach — so I work with the person leading the business, not just the business itself.

My approach is direct. No vague strategy decks. I help you see the commercial picture clearly, make decisions with confidence, and build the structure that lets the business grow without you carrying it alone.

If you're a founder ready to step back from the day-to-day and into a more intentional leadership role, I'd like to talk.
